BMIM Presents: The Sync Deal: Across the Aisle: A Buyer/Seller Perspective
Panelists: Julie Hurwitz, Beth Urdang
What really happens when a sync deal is made? In this candid conversation, we bring both sides of the table together: the music supervisor (buyer) and the sync agent (seller). Julie Hurwitz (Songbird) and Beth Urdang (The Self Same / Future Echoes) have worked across continents, genres, and formats and have built a trusted relationship through decades in the sync world. Together, they’ll unpack the realities of music placement today: how tracks get discovered, pitched, cleared, and ultimately chosen. Expect honest takes on what makes a pitch stand out, what supervisors actually need, and how the relationship between rights holders and supervisors is evolving in the age of AI, metadata, and global content demand. This session offers rare insight into the sync process from both sides perfect for artists, publishers, rights managers and anyone looking to better understand how music ends up in film, TV, games and ads.

Together with key figures from the European football and music scene, we’ll dive into how clubs and federations use music to energize fans and build identity with a special focus on dance music’s growing role in that space. Think: the Armin van Buuren & Chef’Special collab with the Dutch national team, or how pre-match DJ sets are reshaping stadium vibes. Panelists include global icon Armin van Buuren, Mark Nipius (KNVB / Tribe Sports), the strategist behind Oranje’s music policy, and Tom Roberts (Shoot Music), who built a business around connecting labels with sports brands and stadiums. Neurodiversity unmasked: The music industry's hidden superpower no one talks about.
Notification: No ADE PRO pass needed!
Hosts: Anna Neale (Director Creator Relations, CISAC)
Panelists: Victoria Horn, Kris Berry , Annabel Heijen
Special guest: Tristan Hunt
The music industry thrives on minds that think differently – yet we’re failing the very people who fuel our creativity. Every creative knows that feeling – when your brain works differently, when you see patterns others miss, when “normal” industry practices drain your soul. What the industry often labels as “difficult” or “unprofessional” is actually the source of our most innovative thinking.
You’re not broken. You’re neurodiverse. And you’re definitely not alone.
Neurodiversity encompasses conditions like ADHD, autism, dyslexia, depression and other neurological differences that shape how we process the world. Between 20-50% of music professionals are neurodiverse, but most suffer in silence. It’s time to create change together, to open the conversation. When we all celebrate artistic brilliance, we cannot ignore the mental frameworks that create it.
Join Anna Neale (CISAC), Victoria Horn (Lady V), Kris Berry and Tristan Hunt (Neurodiversity coach) for a raw conversation about the industry’s best-kept secret. No corporate speak. Just honest stories about thriving as a neurodiverse creator.

From bias to brilliance, building a stronger music industry
Notification: No ADE PRO Pass needed
Hosts: Annabel Heijen (BumaStemra, Taskforce GO! and Rise Up)
Wake up to more than just coffee! Join AFEM and BumaStemra for a breakfast roundtable that confronts one of the industry’s most uncomfortable truths: bias.
From underbooked talent to pay gaps, from glass ceilings to closed doors, bias holds back not only women and other groups, but music itself. It shrinks possibility, flattens diversity, and keeps the industry stuck in yesterday.
This is not a panel for passive listening. It’s a conversation: open, interactive, and urgent. Together, we’ll spotlight blind spots, share real experiences, and explore what it takes to shift from talk to action.
Join Camz Soares (DJ/producer, Lady Of The House Ambassador), Rach Brosman (Delerium Entertainment, Support Women DJ’s), Prof. Samantha Parsley (University of Portsmouth) and Suzanne Mau-Asam (Open Doors Institute). Bring your energy, your questions, and your appetite. The future of music depends on who gets a seat at the table, and this is where the change begins.
But change is not possible without allies. So bring one along!
This session is open to all music industry professionals, you do not need a ADE PRO Pass. Just register here!

During ADE 2025, BumaStemra, Sacem, ADE and MDLBEAST Records, with support from Dutch Music Export, will host three days of writing sessions at Cruise Control Studios, Amsterdam.
Electronic Music is everywhere, and the usual suspects are playing mainstages all over the world, and rightly so. There is a new wave of artists and DJs coming from different parts and backgrounds. This week, we want to encourage creativity bringing together the established and the upcoming, from all corners of the world. Dutch and French songwriters, producers and artists will collaborate with artists from the Middle East, Africa, and Brazil to craft tracks blending the different styles of electronic and dance music from these regions. With these cross-cultural collaborations, we nurture the global community for dance music, creating hits which will set fire to dancefloors from Nairobi to Rio, from Amsterdam to Riyadh.
