From which countries will payments be made later than December 2025?
There are several reasons why we are not yet able to include all countries in the December 2025 distribution.
The most common reason is that the formal changes regarding withholding tax must be aligned for each country and each sister society. Unfortunately, this has not yet been completed everywhere. Some countries will move to a later payment cycle because, in a few cases, temporary technical issues still need to be resolved first.
This concerns, among others, the following countries:
- Italy
- Spain
- Mexico
- Portugal
- Serbia
- South Africa
As far as we can currently estimate, payments from these countries will follow in the first payment cycle of 2026.
For the United States and France, we will only resume collections once a workable solution has been agreed with the sister societies and the local tax authorities. When this will be is not yet known. It is possible that the solution will not apply to US income we would normally distribute in 2025, meaning a 30% withholding tax may still need to be applied. Naturally, we are working hard to prevent this.
