Why do I have to enter my BSN?

As of January 1, 2022, new legislation is in force for the submission of data of authors and composers to the Tax Office. As a result, BumaStemra is obliged to pass on Citizen Service Numbers (BSN) to the tax authorities from January 31, 2023 at the latest. You can read exactly how that works at www.bumastemra.nl.

BumaStemra has a legal obligation to pass on complete and correct BSN’s to the tax authorities. Failure to do so may result in a fine being imposed by the tax authorities. BumaStemra reserves the right to suspend payments to members who have not provided any or incorrect information. BumaStemra cannot check whether the information you provide is correct. You remain responsible for this yourself.
