Trial transfer of claim rights copyright share

For some time now, as a trial, BumaStemra has been offering authors the possibility of transferring their copyright royalties to a third party. This is a trial that incorporates a lot of work for BumaStemra has to do a lot of manual work.

Therefore, the capacity for this service is limited. So if you are considering entering into an agreement , we advise you to first contact BumaStemra so it can be assessed whether BumaStemra has room to implement this.

In addition, the following conditions apply:

• You are a member of Buma and/or Stemra for at least 3 years and in previous years you received an average income of at least €80,000 from Buma/Stemra per year.
• Or you are a member of Buma and/or Stemra for more than 30 years and:

1. 1. In the past three years you received more than €10,000 income from Buma and/or Stemra.
   2. In the year 2000 you received at least €30,000 in income from Buma and/or Stemra or in the years 2000-2005 you received an average of €30,000 in income from Buma and/or Stemra.

To be clear: even if you meet these conditions, it is possible that BumaStemra no longer has room to facilitate this service. For that reason, we advise you to contact about the possibilities in time.
