Mega Live Act (MLA)
Concerts may qualify for expedited processing and payout. These are referred to as Mega Live Acts (MLAs). This is requested at the request of the rights holder, and we will process it when the following conditions are met:
- The ticket receipts for the concert must be at least €75,000 or there must be a minimum of 5,000 attendees.
- At least 60% of the musical works performed by the main act must be written by the performer(s) of those works. The performers must also be the copyright owners of at least 60% of the musical works they perform.
- BumaStemra must receive the application no later than 28 days before the concert. This should include the provisional setlist. The request can be made by:
- Copyright organisations
- Publishers / individual rightsholders
- Artist management (provided the artist is a direct rightsholder)
In order to distribute the fast-track payment for the concert, we need the statement from the organiser within 14 days of the concert. Payment must be made within 14 days of receipt of the invoice. The gross royalties from the MLA will be processed (after the concert) within 28 days upon receipt of the final setlist (provided by the applicant). This is subject to an 8% administrative fee. There are no other deductions.
